Christmas Memories

On a cold and misty morning,
As I gazed upon the tree,
Memories of Christmas past
Came flooding back to me ...

Childhood days of peace and joy
As Carolers sang their songs,
Knowing that, with happy hearts,
A new day soon would dawn!

And, with each passing hour,
Soon the Christmas bell would toll.
We'd gather round the Christmas tree
And listen, young and old,
As Dad would tell the story
Of our Savior's birth foretold ...

Born in a lowly manger,
Dressed in swaddling clothes.
Shepherds came from far away,
The Lord to see, they rode.

Traveling by stars at night,
Angelic hosts proclaimed
Hosanna to the king of kings.
We praise His holy name.

Of peace on earth ~ good will to man,
Lord, help us to renew.
The peace that we are looking for,
We'll only find in You.

I smile as I remember
Dad kneeling down to pray.
Lord, bless each and every one
that's kneeling here, today.

May the peace and joy of Christmas
be theirs the whole year through.
May they be a blessing as they are blessed.
May they be a light for You.

Now, Christmas time is drawing near
and all I ask of thee
Is 'help me spread some Christmas cheer
And maybe plant a seed'.

~ Christmas in the Air ~

Listen to the sleigh-bells ring.
Their tinkling sounds delight;
Both young and old gathered 'round
The Christmas square, tonight.

Sing of joy and peace on earth,
Good will to all mankind.
Voices echo through the hills
Of precious love divine.

And, as the stars, in heav'n above,
Cast down their brilliant glow,
Angels sang, along with man,
While gazing down below.

Christmas time is in the air
And with it comes the hope;
A Savior born in Bethlehem,
So many years ago.

Let peace, now, reign in your heart
And joyful praise proclaim.
What wondrous gift the Father gave,
Emmanuel His Name!

What Happened To Christmas?

What happened to the Christmas that I loved so much?

We celebrated the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

It was to Him that we gave the presents on that wonderful day,

Just rejoicing in Him and loving our family and friends.

This was what I was taught and wonder where it got lost.

When I was growing up, I was taught that it was Jesus Birthday.

Now, it seems to be everyone's birthday.

We are given a list of the things that 'I want',
No more just going and getting what they might like ~
To give to the ones you love because it is Jesus Birthday.

The children start early with all the things they desire,
Never a thought of what it is all about.

How can we turn back to the good old days?

When parents had no money and our focus was on Christ,
Family get-togethers were something we looked forward to.

Now, it is when can we get to your house or maybe stop by.

The love of our Lord Jesus is not reflected in us.

The shopping and hustling about is a must!

What happened to Christmas? I just don't know.

It isn't a happy time like years, long ago, when
Being together with the ones you hold dear
Was enough to do us until the next year!

A Christmas Wish

What I wish for you
This Christmas Tide ...
Is peace, away from
All of the strife -

Wishing time away
From hectic days;
Away from wrapping,
Shopping, and plays -

Wishing time to spend
Jesus amidst ...
Time to remember
What Christmas is.

Merry Christmas

To My Husband, at Christmas

Deep in the Cold of December
God Warmed my Heart
And I Remembered ...
You Opened your Heart
You Gave me a Home
You Shared your Life
And Made me Your Own ...

And Made My Life Complete.
I'm glad God gave me You!

Merry Christmas

Two Gifts

I must tell you something
God placed within my view -
Were in not for Jesus,
I would not have met you.

I've been given two gifts;
A Christmas blessing, true.
First God gave me Jesus
And then He gave me you.

All That There Is

I need no present. I need no gift.
You've already given me all that there is.
Christ in you, is more precious than things.
Sharing God's love is what Christmas is.
You give of yourself all of the time
By letting His love shine from your heart to mine.

The Candle

Like the light of a bright candle
And the warmth of a fire's glow,

We brighten every corner

When we let God's love show.

LITTLE BABY JESUS

Little Baby Jesus - He is not far away.
He was a gift from God that keeps giving every day.

You see Him in others that show their love toward you.
You see Him in trials that you could not, alone, do.

Little Baby Jesus was not a one time gift.
He is there everyday, giving you a helping lift.

You see Him in blessings, on you He does bestow.
You see Him in weakness, when He does faithfully show.

You see Him in sad times and in the glad times, too.
Little Baby Jesus - yes, He is still there for you.

What Kind of Friend Will You Be?

If I called you on the phone,
Yet your answering machine stayed on ...

If I had great news to share,
But, you really didn't want to hear ...

If I knocked on your front door
And you pretended not to be there ...

If instead, on my birthday,
You invited another to play ...

If you had a big party,
In honor of my worst enemy ...

If, invited, you slept in
Without visiting me, your best friend ...

What kind of friend would you be?
Christ said, "You have done it unto me."

When have you done this to your Lord?
Neglecting prayer, not reading the sword,

Ignoring his words to you,
Christmas, Halloween, missing church, too.

What kind of friend will you be?
All Jesus wants for Christmas is thee.

Ro. 8:1

Miracles Still Happen

Some 2,000 years ago,
In the town of Bethlehem,

Was born a little baby boy
Of a virgin --

They called Him 'JESUS'.

God's Gift

God's gift to you this Christmas
Is a present from the heart,

A present that is ...

So special - it can't be bought,

So priceless - it can't be sold,

Of such quality - it will never let you down,

So rare - it's one of a kind,

So precious - you'll want to share it.

There's only one gift that's all these ...

It's JESUS.

He'll make your life complete.

All you have to do is receive.

God's Wonder

It's a wonder in the sky tonight,
To gaze toward Heaven's starlight.

The sun, the moon, and the stars so bright -
Shining love on all in sight,

Bringing truth from the night.
God, Master Creator, the Father of Lights.

The Christmas Child

So long ago
of lowly birth
but even so
those who know
His worth

will reign
with Him on high

and others
that still
ask "why?"
Don't understand
Christmas

The First Christmas

As we celebrate the Christmas Season
for He who truly is the reason
He was born to set us free
His joy brings many to their knee.

The green tree twinkles Oh so bright
like the star that shined that night
He had not blankets made with yarn
when He was born there in the barn.

I wonder what the animals would say
if they could speak of their feelings that day.

Would they look at us an say?

He was born to set us free
that Christmas so many years ago
He died for you and He died for me
The Christmas message tells us so.

The Color of Christmas

The color of Christmas
is green
the color of Christmas
is red

We praise and adore the
first Nativity Scene
of the boy Jesus laying
on the hay bed.

Red ornaments,
red ribbons,
red bows,

adorn the tree of pine
these colors-so fine
wraps Christmas each year
when we share Christmas cheer.

"Whatever else be lost among the years,
let us keep Christmas still a shining thing.
Whatever doubts assail us,
or what fears,
let us hold close one day,
remembering its poignant meaning
for the hearts of men.
Let us get back our childlike faith again."
~Grace Noll Crowell~

"Christmas is not an eternal event at all, but a piece of one's home
that one carries in one's heart."
~Freya Stark ~

"The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a
happy family all wrapped up in each other."
~Burton Hillis~

"I wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month."
~Harlan Miller~

"Let us remember that the Christmas heart is a giving heart, a wide open heart that thinks of others first. The birth of the baby Jesus stands as the most significant event in all history, because it has meant the pouring into a sick world of the healing medicine of love which has transformed all manner of hearts for almost two thousand years. Underneath all the bulging bundles is this beating Christmas heart."
~George Mathhew Adams~

"Somehow, not only for Christmas, but all the long year through,
the joy that you give to others, is the joy that comes back to you.
And the more you spend in blessing, the poor and lonely and sad,
the more of your heart's possessing, returns to you glad."
~John Greenleaf Whittier~

May his love shine down
upon us, all His people
around the world.
May we know the peace
He spoke of
while delivering
His Father's word.
A message forged in love
for everyone to share
May He reach-out to us now
and hold us all with care.

Wishing you peace and love
at Christmas, and always.

The magic of Christmas never ends, and its greatest gifts are families and friends. May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year! God bless everyone with peace, and lots of love,
Angel hugs,

May God's Infinite Blessings Be Yours

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd,
I would bring him a lamb.
If I were a wise man, I'd do my part,
Yet what I can, I give Him,
give my heart

C. Rossetti

May every joy of this Holy Season be yours to share with those you love.

Just one little angel
and one bright star
led the three wisemen
with gifts from afar.

The poorest shepherds
and the richest king
heard the good news
and came worshipping

Just one lowly manger,
one bed of hay,
and a young mother's arms
where the Christchild lay.
